Love Languages
I've sometimes kept the idea of love languages in my head... like a passive thought that I don't really care about unless I'm asked (similar to zodiac signs to be honest).
Of course, there's five different love languages:
- Words of Affirmation
- Quality Time
- Acts of Service
- Gift Giving
- Physical Touch
And... I guess I want to rank them from which one I 'like' the most to the one I 'like' the least and explain my reasoning... :P
- Quality Time
Quality Time is for sure the love language I like the most. For some reason, I end up really liking the most simple moments with other people. One such case would be the times I've played UNO with friends and classmates throughout my life. It seems like such a random thing to get happy about but I love reminiscing me being happy with my friends / family.
- Acts of Service
I didn't think I'd be putting this one this high but when I look at the others, this one kind of makes sense where it is. I am a person that values the actions people take > the words that they may use to convince me with. I like seeing what they say being put into action instead of hanging in the void. This can also be reversed where I would want to help people if I could / if it was in my power to.
- Gift Giving
I don't have much of an explanation other than that it'd be nice to recieve gifts but it is not the thing I'd care the most about in a friendship / relationship... despite what I said here. I think besides the gifts, I also enjoyed the quality time and being around people that care for me.
- Physical Touch
A few years ago, this might've have been #5 but it honestly isn't anymore. I'm sort of touch-adverse (my self-proclaimed title) but... I feel like I can live to be honest. The only reason it wouldn't be #3 instead is because... well... gifts are cool sometimes. (:
- Words of Affirmation
Now... this one... I feel like it could've been higher in the past but now it's at the bottom. Do not get me wrong, I love compliments! A lot! However, I feel like there's always a better way I could've done something so it feels kind of stupid to be complacent with compliments (even though I do do it sometimes... unfortch). This sort of ties in with Quality Time / Acts of Service but I also would rather to just see actions that prove that someone cares deeply about me as opposed to words.
After typing this out, it sort of seems like my takes on all five love languages are nuanced and also have their specific ranks because of my opinion of other love languages. I sort of had an idea that Quality Time was my #1 love language, but seeing how it seeped into my opinions of the other love languages is intriguing to be honest.
